Believe in our mission to improve the American Legal Ecosystem?

Webpage sponsorships are available for donations over $500.

The American Society of Legal Engineers is a registered 501(c)6 nonprofit trade advocacy organization. Donations to the ASLE are not federally tax-exempt, but may be deductible as trade or business expenses if ordinary and necessary in the conduct of the taxpayer’s business. Nothing on this site is tax advice, and we recommend you consult the IRS and a tax professional for more information.

Membership

Interested in becoming a member? Legal Engineering is a new and exciting field! Applicants can qualify with a combination of educational credentials or experience:

Legal Engineer ($40 per year)

(A)  The Technical Lawyer - A Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree, in addition to either (1) A Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) degree (Bachelor or Master) OR (2) One year’s work in technical law practice or operations), plus ethical training.

(B) The Degree Specialist - A Bachelor or Master of Science in Law degree (BSL or MSL) which includes eight (8) semester credit hours of legal technology courses, plus ethical training.

(C)  The Experienced Practitioner - A Bachelor degree, two years full-time work in technical law practice or operations, plus ethics training.

(D)  The Educator - College-level educator teaching science in a law program, or law in a science program.

Students ($20 per year)

Student memberships are open to J.D. candidates pursuing technical proficiency and to BS/MS in Law candidates.

Members receive our newsletter, gain access to the job board and discussion forum and can submit news and research for publication.

Firms ($100 per year)

Firms wanting access to our directory of Legal Engineers and no-cost job postings can sign up here (individual ASLE members can opt in or out of the directory listing).

Organization Sponsor ($500 per year)

Educational institutions, nonprofit foundations, firms, corporations and individuals wishing to increase access to justice and improve the fabric of the American Legal Ecosystem are welcome as collaborators and organizational sponsors.

Donor (Choose Your Amount and Frequency)

One-time gifts, periodic scheduled donations and estate gifts are welcome. Please use the link below to enter our portal.
